hvillio22….Yeah and the 1986 Rockets were the whippling boys of the heavily favoured defending champion LA Lakers and Hakeem went ON THE ROAD and stomped them in 5 games as the underdog.

@jeroel

You mean Jordan’s 9-2 record against the Dream other than a few years in the early 90s? Yep that qualifies as usual. Its too bad the Rockets couldnt get to the Finals in 1991-93 or Jordan retired the 1st time. This couldve been like the Lakers-Celtics of today.

@nafriniskincare

Im not saying the Rockets couldnt have beaten the Bulls but the playoffs are a whole DIFFERENT deal from the regular season. The Bulls didnt do so good either against the Blazers in the early 90s regular season but then in the NBA Finals, the Bulls whipped their behind.

@nafriniskincare

You mean how the Bulls were 8-2 against the Rockets from 1995-1998 (after MJ came back from retirement)?? Maybe more like the EARLY 90s the Rockets had the Bulls number.

codymorton1 July 29, 2010 at 1:44 pm

@jeroel Jordan came back in 1995 and the bulls lost to the magic in the playoffs.

One of my worst childhood memories

nafriniskincare July 29, 2010 at 3:40 pm

The Bulls definetly who have last to the Rockets because the Rockets had their number all through the 90′s and Maxwell wasnt afraid of Jordan. I’m from Houston I was 11 years old and i remember this vividly. I would’ve loved to see the Bulls and Rockets as would everyone in Houston

MrIsaiah2020 July 29, 2010 at 3:50 pm

Man anybody from Houston can and should say these were the days I was 9 and 10 when they were Clutch City The only Championships I ever remember Houston having. the good old dyas when times were so so much eaiser. Northeast was jumping like crazy.

Damn i know this is a tough loss to swallow and when the Game gets away like this and time running out there’s really nothing much else you can do about it. And even though the KNICKS came up short i will always LOVE JOHN STARKS and the KNICKS no matter what.

markberg July 29, 2010 at 4:18 pm

Dammit, I’m getting teary-eyed!

TheMadStork83 July 29, 2010 at 4:59 pm

@jeroel Lol, as a kid I always feared Michael and the Bulls facing the Rockets in the finals because I knew they would lose.

tonebeatz24 July 29, 2010 at 5:36 pm

What a sad yr for NY and the Knicks which they had that championship in their hands and they blew it. They are the biggest choke franchise team in sports in general I think with all that money they have. If I was a knick fan I wouldn’t even waste my time or money to go see a bunch of scrubs lose until they get better.

CelestialWoodway July 29, 2010 at 6:02 pm

@laclipps1 Think that was in an earlier game. Was it??

CelestialWoodway July 29, 2010 at 6:52 pm

@aerosfan1976 Houston Oilers won two championships in the AFL in the 60′s before The Super Bowl came about.

str8outtatexas1 July 29, 2010 at 9:14 pm

the rockets are my boys,but this team has’nt done shit since the mid 90′s.they need shooters,a real power forward,a true point guard, and a real fucking coach. change the colors and logo back to the old rockets. the shit now is geared toward yoa ming and the asian look logo.(no hate or stupid shit intented) give me the old rockets.i’m tired of hearing about the lakers,suns,boston,cleveland ect..i even hate that we lost the damn comets.please invest in some real players will you?

GabrYouri July 29, 2010 at 9:22 pm

Rockets Forever!

ksc630 July 29, 2010 at 9:26 pm

no shake hand at the end of match !!

jmay2002 July 29, 2010 at 9:29 pm

Starks was a tough player but sadly he is remembered for this performance!

cbaldwinjr July 29, 2010 at 10:11 pm

Good Lord this was painful basketball to watch. No skill, just brutal, grinding, no tempo…awful. MJ really set the NBA back by giving GM’s the illusion that a great player alone could elevate a team. Which led to years like Jerry Stackhouse having 29 PPG shooting 40% in Detroit…and Allen Iverson’s CAREER. That’s why that awful screw job David Stern did to Dallas in 2006 was so bad: that Mavs team was a TEAM…and Stern’s enmity toward Mark Cuban allowed Dwyane Wade to look like an MVP. Bad.

laclipps1 July 29, 2010 at 10:48 pm

hey…where is the oj verdict pre-emp??

Mademan281 July 29, 2010 at 11:13 pm

Man, I miss those glory days of the Rockets. We could’ve had them back if it wasn’t for Steve Francis bum ass
